Board of Directors

Michael Otim, Board Chairman, Co-founder  Michael works as Head of Office for the International Center for Transitional Justice in Uganda. He is among Northern Uganda’s most prominent civil society activists and one of very few key players in transitional justice issues in Uganda.

Margaret Ajok, Board Member Margaret is the Executive Director of the Center for Reparation and Rehabilitation and received a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from Makerere University in 2004.

Tonny Komakech, Board Member  Tonny is the Finance Manager at the Northern Uganda Malaria Aids and Tuberculosis Programme (NUMAT) in Gulu, Uganda. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration from Gulu University.

 

Innocent Aloyo, Board Member Innocent is a presenter at Mega FM in Gulu, Uganda.

Boniface OjokSenior Program Advisor and Board Member Boniface Ojok is a member of the founding team at JRP. He works with the secretariat to provide direct technical support to the program team.Since it’s inception Boniface has provided leadership at the secretariat.He was the founding head of office before he opted to undertake academic sabbatical in 2013. He is currently a doctorate student at the University of Birmingham-UK. He holds a Masters in International Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame, US as well as a Master of Management from the Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi. He graduated with a Social Science degree from Makerere University Kampala and has undergone numerous training in the field of research ethics, peace building and transitional justice in Uganda and beyond. Boniface continues to be an active player in the transitional justice arena in Uganda.


Advisory Board

Dr. Erin Baines, Co-founder and Advisor Dr. Erin Baines, Co-founder Erin is an assistant professor at the Liu Institute for Global Issues, University of British Columbia, Canada. Her current research interests include local approaches to transitional justice; the politics of humanitarianism and forced displacement and the study of gender, youth and armed conflict.

 

Pilar Riaño-Alcalá, Advisor Pilar is an associate professor at the School of Social Work and faculty fellow in residence at the Liu Institute for Global Issues, University of British Columbia, Canada. She is also a researcher with the Colombian Commission of Historical Memory working for the last four years in documenting emblematic cases of war related violence in Colombia (gender violence, forced displacement, massacres, land grabbing).
