Community Documentation

JRP’s Community Documentation department chronicles the conflict-related experiences and memories of individuals, communities and victims’ groups to preserve memory, acknowledge loss and promote healing and reconciliation. We also support community-led documentation efforts.

Our documentation team documenting the experiences of survivors of the 1989 Mukura massacre

Through exercises in community documentation and interest group documentation, we build on work done over the past years with communities in Atiak, Barlonyo, Mucwini, Omot, Palabek, Lukodi, Mukura and others to introduce new documentation methods to allow for broader participation.

The Community Documentation team is responsible for many of the JRP publications, including Reports and Field Notes.
